Restorer Gian Maria Manvati

Born in Parma in 1966, Gian Maria Manvati graduated at the artistic high school in Varese and obtained a degree at the Fine Arts Academy of Brera. He taught Fresco Tecnique in Migros school of Lugano in 1999-2000 and Architectural Restoration at the Interior Design Institute & Ateneo Creativo of Milan in 2007-2008. He has been working as a restorer, technical director for restoration and documentary maker for restoration since 1987. During these several years of commitment, Gian Maria Manvati gained a significant experience in designing and project managing of restoration works and monument preservation. He operated both as a freelance and restoration technical manager for La Maddalena S.A., a conservative restoration swiss company based in Chiasso that operates on artworks and ancient structures. He took care of both public monumental architectural works – mainly religious – and private ones, basically manor houses subjected to environmental or monumental restraints. He also dealt with restoration of paintings and sculptures. Gian Maria Manvati has the qualification as Cultural Heritage Restorer for 1st and 2nd expertise sectors and is licensed to operate on cultural heritage under art. 9b of Cultural Heritage and Landscape Code.
